WE ARE THE RENEGADE RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB

​The Renegade Riders Motorcycle Club of Chicago, founded in 1994 & chartered in 1995, is a group of family & community minded motorcycle enthusiasts. Initially, the membership consisted of nine individuals who saw a need to create an organization of multicultural & multiracial male & female riders. The main objective was to create something different from the ordinary motorcycle clubs in existence at that time. The mere thought to include females as full-fledged members, with the possibility of holding an elected office, was, in & of itself, different from the mainstream motorcycle clubs, which were predominately male-oriented. With this in mind, we wanted a name to reflect different ideals & ideas of a multifaceted motorcycle club,  we selected RENEGADE RIDERS.   

The first meetings were held in a local lounge on the south side of Chicago & later moved to the more relaxed atmosphere of each member's house on a rotating basis. A common thread, of family orientation & respect, bound this membership & signaled to others our purpose & our presence. As a result, our membership begin to grow. Riders from all walks of life, such as educators, police officers, city, county & state personnel, retirees & others began to show interest in our organization.  

​Due to our growth we found it necessary to seek a larger location for the club to meet in & we selected a site in the city of Harvey, where we upgraded the facility & improved the surrounding area. Additionally we developed a cordial relationship with the local law enforcement agencies & the city at large. As our membership continued to grow, we relocated to our current location on Morgan Street.  

To date we have sponsored, assisted or initiated various charitable programs for the city of Harvey. We accomplished this through a local organization called the Community Oriented Police Services, in conjunction with the mayor's office, by collecting & helping to distribute toys under a local Toys for Tots program. Also, we have sponsored Thanksgiving food giveaways & food distribution to the needy of the city & participated in the city's holiday parade. True to our motto, we plan to continue to be a positive force & an active participant in the immediate & surrounding communities.  

Among our other activities as a club, we participate in the annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots Drive & Parade, the March of Dimes Ride for Kids, Multiple Sclerosis Ride & we ride every year in support of the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, Illinois. We also make donations to the National Sickle Cell Foundation & the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center.  

We classify ourselves as a touring motorcycle club. Our members have traveled from coast to coast attending rallies & satisfying personal goals. To this end, we are the RENEGADE RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB, a very proud community & family organization.  

​Our future plans include increasing our membership & forming chapters of the RENEGADE RIDERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB in other cities.
